JUPITER (November 7, 2013) – The $hareholders and their “friends” will welcome motorcycle enthusiasts to the finish line of the annual Ali’s Alliance Fall Motorcycle Poker Run Fundraiser 2013 on November 17.  Beginning at 9 a.m. at Harley-Davidson of Palm Beach, to the Finish Line Party starting at 3 p.m., the riders will collect playing cards at designated stops along the 100 plus mile coursePlayers will collect the best (and worst) hands for a chance to win prizes, including the grand prize of $500 and the prize of “Top Fundraiser.” Everyone then gathers at Jupiter Pointe Club and Marina for what has turned out to be the biggest block-party of the year.

“Last year, we had a couple of bands who said they wanted to perform for us,” says Ali’s Alliance Founder and President David J. Cowan, Sr.  “Instead, the bands turned up and brought ‘friends’ of other bands along. What started out as ‘a little bit of music’ turned into a rolling Jam Session. This year will be the same, with some of the area’s shining stars of music coming and going on the stage.” The entertainment for the Finish Line Party is being arranged by $hareholder’s band member Geoff Livingston. Other musicians and acts expected to appear include Mark Leach as Muggy Doo on the B3, former band leader of the Buddy Miles Express, and Jennell Eve of Random Play, Livingston/Johnson Band, Kent Coleman, Royal Hayes, Artmann Band, Trainreck, and assorted other musical friends.

The event, held each year by Ali’s Alliance, combines the fundraising of a sponsored ride, with the fun and spontaneity of a poker run.

Riders will leave the Harley-Davidson of Palm Beach location at 30 sec intervals starting at 10:00 am and will have complete control over the route they travel.  The event will end with the Finish Line Party at Jupiter Pointe Club and Marina on US1 in Jupiter at approximately 3:00 p.m. and celebrate until after sunset.

Ali’s Alliance Fall Motorcycle Poker Run Fundraiser is the creation of Ali’s Alliance Founder and President David J. Cowan, Sr. who found solace in a cross-country motorcycle trip after losing his wife, Alison to cancer at age 45. Alison Arnesen Cowan was a litigation paralegal at the top of her career, and an active and enthusiastic member of her church and community, before receiving the devastating cancer diagnosis that changed both their lives. Following her passing after an exhausting, 11-month battle, David realized that there was an opportunity to provide a centralized resource center to reduce the time, energy and anxiety of finding information and support. This became Ali’s Alliance, the nation’s only comprehensive searchable online database of Cancer Resources and Support available to those individuals and families engaged in the day-to-day battle with cancer and care-giving.
