June 11th 2011

I had a wonderful day in the saddle today. Cheerfully settled into a “Knight’s Inn” in Knoxville, TN where I finally gave in and purchased a real GPS unit. The one in my phone was killing the battery and I had to stop to use it.    Several friends suggested this move before I left and they were right.

I’d like to offer a cheerful shout-out to Turboz Custom Cycles. Tom and his staff did an awesome job of prepping the bike for this trip. 1111 miles so far and not even a little hiccup. The bike is doing great and getting 42 mpg all loaded down. Not to mention much of the trip so far has been running 70-75-80 mph and through the Blue Ridge and Smokies. Thanks guys.

Reflecting on my stops in Savannah, Charleston and Charlotte I am really touched and a bit awed by the outpouring of support for Ali’s Alliance.  People really get it and I feel strongly that they will talk with friends and acquaintances to spread the word.  The most important thing right now is to ask the service providers to register themselves and their companies.  Just go to JOIN THE LIST and fill in the form, should take less than two minutes and it’s free.
