June 8th 2011

What a wonderful day on the road. High fluffy clouds and temps in the low 80’s; conditions could not have been better. The only problem encountered was the motorcycle wanting to cruise at 80 when I wanted to do 70. If you’re going to do a road trip it’s nice to see what there is to see, but that bike just has a sweet spot at 80 mph. Just for background, Ali’s Alliance has two purposes, to connect those engaged in the battle with cancer with the service providers there to support them, and to memorialize its namesake. The first task will be accomplished with the creation and maintenance of an online geographically searchable database of resources and support services for cancer survivors and caregivers. The second is accomplished be continuing to exist. That said I continue to be amazed and baffled that the large mainstream medical centers refuse to even hear what we are creating. The beauty of our Cancer Resource List is that it is designed to be no cost to the providers, and no cost to the people that need it. Having not made much progress with the big cancer centers I decided to try another tact. I rolled into Jacksonville this about 4 pm this afternoon and went straight to Jacksonville Channel 4 and spoke with a very nice person. With a little luck maybe they will get back with me a do a small piece.
